International Summer School to Promote Civil and Human Rights Education
Main aim and activites:
The rise of various forms of intolerance – fueled by populist parties and politicians – poses a growing threat to Slovakia and the European Union as a whole, and to our fundamental values. The situation among young voters in Slovakia is particularly serious. Surveys have repeatedly shown that in this group of voters right-wing extremists have the highest support in the long term. This points to the need for more effective education of young people on civil and human rights issues. The aim of the project was to contribute to education in human rights and democracy and the prevention of extremism among young people.

Public discussions – citizen participation in the control of public affairs
Main aim and activites:
The project aims to empower local communities, parliamentarians, citizens to take action in public affairs, public life control, and social life through public discussions. Through public discussions to pursue a deeper analysis, a more detailed insight into the topics of regional and national politics in order to present a variety of views and arguments on the problem. The main activity of the project is to conduct regular monthly public discussions with regional and Slovak politicians, representatives of state and public administration, activists pointing out problematic issues. The target groups of the project are elected politicians, non-public citizens, public administration, media, citizens in the broader sense, local communities, university and high school students interested in public life.

Main aim and activites:
The aim of the project is to reduce tensions and gradually improve the quality of community coexistence between clients of the new home of social services in Chocholná – Velčice and the original inhabitants of the village. Several disadvantages of Roma origin are moving into the new centre in the village. Within the project, they will not only directly help clients, but especially create a space for joint meetings with peers and adults in the village – in the form of thematic and information workshops, organizing motivational meetings “live books”, organizing joint leisure activities, including participation in social events in the village.

The project aims to strengthen the field of social work in Dúbravka. Recruiting a new employee will extend the organization ‘s services to. The first will be the field social work services themselves and the second will be the preparation for the establishment of a low-threshold club in Dubravka. The target group of the project are non-public citizens, children and youth.

Oflajn 2020
Main aim and activites:
The Oflajn 2020 aims to improve cooperation between different generations and develop volunteering in Trenčín. Thanks to the six helping city quizzes, citizens will help start-up good ideas and get to know local NGOs improving the position of vulnerable groups and the environment. In quizzes, citizens have the opportunity to get to know each other and meet representatives of different organizations. The starting fee of 3 € from about 100 participants is always a donation to a selected non-profit organization – they have already supported the activities of the Srdiečko parent centre or the work of the Amazon citizens association helping cancer patients etc. At the end of each quiz, the winner receives a prize from a local manufacturer, thereby supporting local businesses.

Together or against each other? What affects our coexistence?
Main aim and activites:
The project responds to the fact that young people have insufficiently internalized human rights issues, the need to ensure equality for all citizens regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, origin, language, ethnic, racial or confessional membership and are not ready to actively oppose discrimination and against human rights violations by institutions or individuals. “Together, or against each other?” is an educational publication – glossary: 30 terms associated with the civil coexistence, 15 illustrations and 30 icons. It is one of the activities of the project supported by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic.

Slovakia at the Crossroads
Main aim and activites:
The project is the author project of Eva Babitzová and it is a series of video reports from all over Slovakia describing the state of the country. It will bring mini-profiles of citizens, map out ongoing campaigns of political parties in the run-up to the election of 2020. It aims to bring information to citizens and the media from the regions of Slovakia, highlighting what is happening outside the radar of the capital city. The aim is to bring a picture of the country, to warn against the concentrated and focused camps of extremists, to show the picture of Slovak voters – a high level of frustration, indifference, or ignorance of the seriousness of the situation. At the same time, several videos also want to focus on a positive message – reports with extraordinary people.

WORLD ACCORDING TO GABRIEL – 2. year of festival of transgender culture
Main aim and activites:
The project deals with the perception of the LGBTI community in Slovakia. Waldemar Švábenský is a photographer, graphic designer and father. He initiated and organized the 1st year of the festival of transgender culture: World According to Gabriel created as a natural reaction to the death of his child, Gabriel, who was a transgender person. Even though Gabriel was supported by his family, on 5th March 2018, he decided to end his life and committed suicide. After Gabriel´s death, his father and brother created a website www.gabrielsvabensky.sk, full of Gabriel´s paintings, thoughts and memories. They wanted to elevate Gabriel’s death to a legacy that would help other people in a similar situation.

One world in the regions – teaching and learning
Main aim and activites:
One World is a festival connecting art, activism, global education and social work. The main goal of the project is to work with the public using a documentary film tool in selected regions of Slovakia. Quality of processing, a strong theme and education are the main criteria for selecting films related to the position of man in today’s society. The festival in the regions is part of the main festival, through which we try to get peripheral themes to target groups that do not have the same opportunities as in the capital. The festival is cooperating with a diverse network of organizations, whose good preparedness and background is the primary condition for strengthening civil society, as the main goal of the festival.

The World of the Future – podcast series
Main aim and activites:
The project aims to making podcasts about the world after the coronavirus, about how the world will continue, which direction we will choose to not to continue in destroying the environment, extending the social gaps, lowering the social engagement. The goal is to increase the successful podcast Black Swan. In addition to the usual contributions, the implementers plan to prepare a special series for their followers, in which there will be interviews with experts on what the world could look like after Covid-19 if the crisis were seized as an opportunity for change. The contributions will be divided into categories: the future of the planet, the future of society, the future of education and the future of work, which will answer questions such as: How to rebuild the economy so that we do not cause another crisis ?, How to change food cultivation in Slovakia so that we do not stay hungry ?, How does hygiene curtail civil liberties ?, What do we really need for life ?, Do we have to meet in the office when we work at a computer? How will flexible working hours change lives? and much more.

Capable Children for Their Community
Main aim and activites:
The Capable Children mentoring program supports young people to acquire education and skills for a successful life. Every year, young people take part in a residential camp or weekend, where there is an opportunity for new meetings, joint experiences and suggestions. This year’s weekend (with the participation of lecturers) will focus on participation and climate change. After six years, the young people will implement their own projects in communities on the environment, which they will present at a public event in Košice in February with the participation of mentors.

The Liga za duševné zdravie has had much success in promoting mental health over the past year. Following the General Assembly of the Liga’s member organizations, which last took place in 2013, and following an internal audit of the membership base, the Liga begins to work actively with members, actively identify their needs and represent them to the public administration to influence public policy in their areas. Each member organization works in an environment that needs to be reformed.

Orchestra from the Land of Silence – school projections
Main aim and activites:
The Film Expanded in cooperation with the Pohoda Festival will organize 15 school events with the documentary film by Lucia Kašová – Orchestra from the Land of Silence. The film shows the first female Afghan orchestra, Zohra, whose members are between the ages of 12 and 18. The story follows the journey of the orchestra members to Pohoda Festival, during which some of them decide to escape. Through the project, the authors want to encourage young people to think about the issues of human rights and freedoms, specifically the current and in schools (in their words) poorly communicated topic of women’s rights. Using the example of the Zohra story, they will introduce students to the difficult situation of young women in Muslim countries in the Middle East. The project has the ambition to provide a different, sensitized optic for refugees and our possibilities of accepting people in need in Slovakia through a story about the escape of a group of orchestra members.

Main aim and activites:
The aim of the project is to create conditions for increasing the participation of young people and adults with Asperger’s syndrome, autism and other differences in social life and to increase the availability of their rights in all areas of life. Through an educational program and awareness-raising activities, the project plans to develop the skills and attitudes of experts and staff of various types of institutions, aimed at inclusive communication and acceptance of differences. Education will be provided for parents to defend their children’s rights.

With Demagogue against demagoguery among young people
Main aim and activites:
The aim of the project is to work with youth – 1) strengthening civic engagement through a 12-week internship in Demagóg.SK with professional leadership, during which they would verify the statements of politicians and 2) completing a series of workshops (basics of political system; critical thinking; searching and verifying information writing professional texts with the right source). Based on the experience, observations of trainees and PISA requirements, there will be created a model of a lesson focused on critical thinking for the State Pedagogical Institute.

Main aim and activites:
The project will improve the position of vulnerable groups. Thanks to ten events in Café Na ceste, where people with mental disabilities serve, guests will naturally become acquainted with supported employment. In addition, there will be 10 quality interviews with people who enrich life in the city of Trenčín with civic activity. In the guests and readers of the blogs, the project will support empathy and respect for helping professions, as well as strenghten the relationship with the city. The main idea of the project: „Positive energy will bring good to the whole community“.

Main aim and activites:
The aim of the project Corruption – the act is happening is to explain the dangers and signs of corrupt behavior, prevention and punishment of corruption at all levels and support the elimination of this phenomenon in public, present methods and techniques for monitoring and securing evidence of corruption – monitoring, documentation or deployment of a provocateur. The supportive goal is to restore trust in public authorities and institutions, e.g. police, courts, etc. The project Corruption – the act is happening, is being implemented in the cities of the least developed districts and the installation of the exhibition is planned in the premises of schools resp. youth clubs.

Privacy and it´s protection
Main aim and activites:
In a world where our privacy, data and psychology are becoming an increasingly vulnerable target of third-party interest, the project is conceived as accessible information to the public. In the form of discussions and online videos, it will focus on what our privacy is today, how we are legally aware of it in the context of two totalitarians, and who is the most vulnerable. What does our phone and wifi do? Why is privacy key to democracy? The lectures will be streamed online for the general public. One of the steps that the project plans to take to strengthen a wide range of people is to stimulate a lively and active discussion, from which practical information and ideas can be drawn. Publicly available conversations such as streaming on Fb, video clips in collaboration with actor Robert Roth, Living Memory, Chilli.today (confirmation of collaboration) and online sharing via the pages Little Cynicism, Stop ĽSNS and Super feeling. 3 video lectures on the topic of privacy will always have one of the key topics, pre-processed in the text and asked in the form of questions to guests.

MESTOMETER
Main aim and activites:
The project educates on spatial planning and its relationship to environmental sustainability on the example of Košice. It thus supports the active involvement of the population in the creation of a new zoning plan and other city policies. The main tool is the interactive installation of the Mestometer, created especially for this purpose. The main project activities are the operation of the installation as a contact/educational point, an exhibition with an accompanying program and the creation of a publication that includes practical thematic knowledge.Mestometer is an interdisciplinary work on the edges of computer and board games, product design and urban studies. In an interactive and playful way, he educates about complex topics and relationships in spatial planning, which concern everyone in Košice. It aims to enable and encourage people not only to comment more critically on spatial planning, but also to formulate their own requirements for a possible new spatial plan. At the same time, it aims to create a meeting place for representatives of local governments and municipal authorities, for whom the Mestometer can also be a tool for sharing experiences, visualizing data and surveys and a platform for multidisciplinary discussion on policy orientations.

Main aim and activites:
The project focuses on helping single parents to whom it brings information, advice, tips, recommendations to help them better orientate themselves in their new life situation. Practical solutions will facilitate and alleviate the difficulty of the situation. It also comes with civic initiatives aimed at naming and highlighting the need for help, the challenges and obstacles that single parents face in our society. The project will focus on 2 areas: 1. Capacity building for single parents (sufficient relevant information and the ability to work with them adequately), 2. Civic initiatives focused on areas that affect single parents. An e-learning platform will also be created, divided into sections: My health and well-being, My children, My relationships, My rights and responsibilities, My finances and future, My work and education, I am a child and this is my world.

From the chain to the lair – we treat abused dog souls.
Main aim and activites:
The aim of the project is to build a functional mechanism for the rescue of animals with the involvement of children from local communities in Medzany and districts of the Prešov and Košice region, as well as the education of these children in biodiversity, nature and animals.The intention is also to complete the garden of OZ Brod in Medzany and thus create a place where children from Prešov (and other) schools can learn in a playful interactive way what biodiversity is and how it works. I will find fauna and flora, a pond, bees, birds, bats, but also rescued dogs and cats. As part of education and enlightenment, the project also plans to involve the Prešov self-governing region as well as organizations dedicated to the protection of animals and nature (such as the VLK). As part of the education of children from the communities in Medzany, the lectures begin in the garden of OZ Brod, then walk through the village and nature in the area, where they visit the gardens of seniors, who participate in the project and talk about growing plants, herbs and animal husbandry.
