Strengthened civil society advocacy and watchdog role

Advocacy and public affairs monitoring are important for the democratic governance of society and for addressing issues that reduce citizen’s trust in a functioning state, self-government, and public services. Civil organizations complement the work of independent media and offer a critical reflection on how to manage things.

In the Outcome Strengthened civil society advocacy and watchdog role were 22 projects supported.

  • 58 local/regional policies were influenced by the work of civil society organisations
  • 36 CSO campaigns on good governance and transparency were created
  • 44 legal actions were submitted by CSOs in the field of good governance and transparency
  • 27 CSOs were researching to support their advocacy activities
