LEFT THEIR MARK – STORM Association

Since the beginning of the Active Citizens Fund – Slovakia programme, we have encountered many examples of good practice and positive results from the supported projects.

We want to share with you some of the exceptional stories that have left their mark.

The next project that we want to present to you in this mini video series is focused on social inclusion of drug users and sex workers.

Through practical work training in the ZÓNA contact centre in Seredi and by working outdoors or indoors in the centre, the clients increase their practical work skills. They are motivated by the fulfilment of an individual goal (e.g. obtaining funds for an ID card, reducing debts in health insurance, paying for a doctor, housing, etc.). During its lifetime, the project has reached up to 245 clients in three towns (but especially in Sered) directly, by talking about the specifics and the services on offer. Approximately 400 clients were reached indirectly through STORMík leaflets and magazines. Many of them improved their lives, wrote their CVs, improved their job skills, were able to buy food, see a doctor and get accommodation. The project was supported in the 2nd call under the Vulnerable Groups – Basic Grants theme.
