January 26, 2021
The determination to defend human rights and actively develop civil society will once again be supported in the third round of calls for the Active Citizens Fund – Slovakia grant program, which is aimed at supporting non-governmental organizations in Slovakia.
Civil society and human rights, support for vulnerable groups, defense of public interests and the development of civil society organizations are key topics addressed by the ACF – Slovakia grant program in the third round of announced calls. NGOs can apply for funding for their projects from January 26, 2021.
“These challenges focus on the active involvement of citizens in decision-making and public policy-making, improving governance, strengthening the protection of human rights, improving civic education and empowering vulnerable groups in society. The program also supports bilateral contacts between Slovak organizations and partners from donor countries, “explains Peter Medveď, director of the Ekopolis Foundation, which together with the Open Society Foundation and the Carpathian Foundation manage the Active Citizens Fund – Slovakia program.
The deadline for the grant call applications is April, 29 2021. After the end of the third round of calls, all applications received will be subject to administrative scrutiny and subsequent evaluation by members of expert commissions, who will select the best project proposals and recommend them for support. Grant results should be known to grant applicants by the end of September 2021.
In the last round of calls of the program, the consortium will distribute a total of more than EUR 1.87 million. All relevant information for grant applicants is published in the “Calls” section.
